The Best Paint Colors for Your Office
The best color to paint your office with is off-white (something that is no very stark and sterile looking!) accented with a bold color. The off-white will help bounce natural light around your workspace. The bold color will add a splash of life to your space and help boost your mood. If you want extra passion and energy, consider red as the bold color, but if you have a high-stress job or work environment, consider blues or greens for their calming effects.

Creating an inspiring and productive workspace is essential for any professional, and choosing the right paint colors for your office can make a significant difference. As an Interior Designer, I've had the privilege of helping clients transform their office spaces into functional, beautiful, and motivating environments. In this post, I will explain some of my thoughts on paint colors and explore the best options for your office.
Calming Neutrals
Neutral paint colors are a timeless choice for any office space. Shades like soft grays, warm beiges, and subtle creams create a serene and inviting atmosphere. These colors promote focus and concentration, making them perfect for educational and professional settings. Neutral tones also provide a versatile backdrop for various decor styles, color accents, and virtual meetings. Here are some of my favorite neutral paint colors:
Tranquil Blues
Blue is often associated with calmness and productivity. Lighter shades of blue, such as powder blue or robin's egg, create a serene and peaceful ambiance in your office and it exudes trust and reliability. For offices that may focus on educational spaces like virtual classrooms or study/tutor areas, blue is known to improve concentration and information retention.
Energizing Greens
Green, particularly soft and muted tones, can be a great choice for offices where creativity and productivity are paramount. Green is linked to growth and renewal, making it an excellent option for offices and educational-focused office spaces. Additionally, green creates a refreshing atmosphere that can help reduce stress and increase focus.
Pops of Color
While neutral and soothing colors are often the go-to choices, don't be afraid to incorporate pops of color into your office. A carefully chosen accent wall or colorful accessories can add energy and vibrancy to your workspace. In educational settings, colors like red and yellow can stimulate creativity, while in professional offices, strategic pops of color can reflect your brand's identity.
Selecting the perfect paint color for your office is a critical decision that can significantly impact your educational and professional experience. Whether you opt for calming neutrals, tranquil blues, energizing greens, soothing earth tones, sophisticated greige, or pops of color, the key is to create a harmonious and functional environment. Consult with an interior designer to help you choose the ideal paint color that aligns with your objectives and complements your office's design. With the right paint color, your office space can become an inspiring and productive haven for your educational and professional pursuits.

The Best Work From Home Office Accessories
Do you see your future in a hybrid work from home (WFH) back to office shuffle? Is WFH your normal or new daily norm? If so, make sure you personalize this space as a dedicated space you love!
Do you see your future in a hybrid office or work-from-home (WFH) back instead of the back-to-office shuffle? Is WFH your normal or new daily norm? If so, make sure you personalize this space as a dedicated space you love! Here at SNPC Design, I have a real passion for creating designs for an office space custom to your needs! Your office space should also be somewhere that inspires creativity and increases productivity. Below are my top office decor elements to raise the bar for your work-from-home space.
Your desk
Think of your desk as your sanctuary space - this is where all the daily energy and grind flows from. This piece should be the focal point of your new office design.
The first question to ask yourself when starting your office design is how big of a workspace do you need? This will help you in selecting a desk. A writing desk is usually on the smaller side, whereas, an executive desk is typically larger. The second question to ask yourself is how much storage does your desk need?
Below, are a few of my favorite desks to help you get started with your search! Click the picture to find out more information on each desk:
YOUR CHAIR
Your body is your temple and it deserves only the best! Treat it right and select a chair that has both ergonomics and comfort in mind. Remember, you will likely be sitting in this chair for multiple hours a day. Here are some of the items you should consider when selecting your office chair:
Do you prefer a firm or soft seat?
Do you prefer a chair with armrests?
Does the chair need lumbar support or a neckrest?
Does the chair need to be mobile or stationary?
Does the chair need to be a fixed height or adjustable?
To help you get started with your search, I’ve provided a few of my favorite chairs below. Click the picture to find out more information on each chair:
Lighting
Adequate lighting levels in your office are extremely important to your health and productivity. Low lighting levels can lead to headaches/migraines, squinting, and overall inability to read documents and your computer monitor.
Make sure to invest in either overhead lighting, natural light, or a nice task light to sit on your desk. To help you get started with your search, we’ve provided a few of our favorite lamps above.
Acoustics
Is your office covered in hard materials? Do you have wood flooring in your office? Is the ceiling low in your office space? If you answered yes to any of these questions, acoustics will play a big role in your office space design to answer phone calls, sit on virtual meetings, or record any type of auto without echo or voice issues.
Here at SNPC Design, an area rug is my favorite decor element to add to an office to help with acoustic issues. Area rugs cover a large area with a soft material that helps with echoing and noise control. To help you get started with your search, I’ve provided a few of my favorite area rugs below:
Office Accessories
Who doesn’t love a personalized space? You could be spending 8-12 hours in your office (but hopefully less!). Make the design of this space speak to you. The design should help calm you, as well as, give some identity to who you are or maybe what type of work you do.
Here are some ideas on what types of accessories you could add to your office space:
Productivity tools
Dry-erase boards
A fun and modern calendar
Tack boards
Wall organizer
Computer accessories
Laptop stands
Monitor mounts
Desk Decor
Clock
Desk organizer
Picture frame (to remember who or what you are working so hard for!)

Adding plants to an office space is sure to bring a variety of benefits. Not only do they brighten up a room and add a touch of nature, but studies have shown that plants can improve productivity. Studies have indicated that working in an environment with plants can reduce stress and fatigue, increase creativity, and lead to greater concentration. Furthermore, the presence of plants has been found to boost air quality by absorbing pollutants from the air and releasing oxygen back into the environment. Lastly, having plants around can serve as a reminder of the importance of nature which leads to greater overall job satisfaction. For all these reasons, adding some greenery to your workplace should be seriously considered for the health and well-being of employees.
